Winnipeg, May 2 – Chickpea prices in Australia have risen past AU$1,000 per tonne and are expected to remain high, according to a report from Queensland Country Life.
According to a report on adelaidenow.com, Viterra shipped 50,000 tonnes of lentils to Turkey in March. That is more than twice the highest number ever recorded in a month, which was set in June of 2007.
Myanmar is planning to ship 10,000 tonnes of mung beans to India, according to a report by the Xinhua News Agency. Myanmar’s pulse ambitions have been growing in recent years as the company exported 1.2 million tonnes of pulses in 2016, with 80 percent of that headed to India.
Bids for laird number one lentils are holding steady at 48 to 52 cents per pound, according to the latest information from the Prairie Ag Hotwire.
Kabuli 10mm chickpeas remain locked in their recent range of 67 to 68 cents per pound.
Yellow peas jumped by 29 cents last week to C$7.50-$9.29 per pound.
