Pulses: AUS farmers monitor disease and pest threats

Winnipeg, May 24 – Bids for kabuli chickpeas (10mm) on the
Canadian Prairies are keeping firm, according to the latest
information from the Prairie Ag Hotwire. Prices are listed at 69
to 70 cents per pound.
Prices for Laird number one lentils are also holding steady
at 48 to 52 cents per pound.
Navy beans in Manitoba are priced at 37 cents per pound.
Yellow peas are locked in a range of C$7.93 to C$9.60 per
bushel.
Farmers in Western Australia continue to monitor a
potential locust threat but officials now says the danger is
lessening, according to a report in graincentral.com.
The average price of beans is falling in China. According
to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS),
bean prices fell 6.8 percent between April 11 to April 20.
