Winnipeg, January 3 (CNS) – Pulse Australia is pushing
India to exempt current shipments of pulses from a new 30 per
cent tariff on chickpea and lentil imports. According to a
report by farmonline.com, the organization says about 200,000
tonnes of pulses were already en route to India when the Asian
country slapped down the new duty. Pulse Australia says Indian
buyers and Australian farmers have acted in good faith and the
prior rules should be upheld.
