Winnipeg, October 24 – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world pulse markets on October 24.
– The Canadian government has increased its projections for dry bean and chickpea prices, following trends in India, according to reports on Monday. Prices for the commodities are now expected to be between C$950 and C$980 a tonne for chickpeas, and C$880 and C$910 per tonne for beans.
– The production of pulses in India is expected to rise by 42 per cent this year, according to early estimates out of the country.
– Western Canadian spot prices for all grades of crimson lentils range from 18 to 33 Canadian cents per pound, Prairie Ag Hotwire said on Monday.
– Western Canadian spot prices for Kabuli chickpeas are between 20 and 53 Canadian cents per pound, according to data from Prairie Ag Hotwire on Monday.
