Winnipeg, August 2 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world pulse markets on Tuesday, August 2.
– Canada exported 200 tonnes of lentils during the week ended July 24, according to the latest Canadian Grain Commission data. During the 2015/16 crop-year-to-date, Canada exported 631,800 tonnes of lentils.
– India is expecting a bumper harvest of pulses along with a rebound in the kharif harvest due to more crops planted and better rainfall, according to reports.
– Canadian yellow peas markets finished the 2015/16 marketing year with prices jumping 9 per cent above the recent three year average annual price, according to reports. The highest monthly average was C$422.00 per tonne in May, while the lowest monthly average was C$305.00 per tonne.

– Pinto beans in Manitoba remained steady at 39 Canadian cents per pound, according to Prairie Ag Hotwire. Navy beans also remained steady at 33 Canadian cents per pound.
– Desi chickpea prices in Western Canada remain steady, trading at 31.0 cents per pound, according to Prairie Ag Hotwire. Large caliber kabuli chickpeas also remained steady at 54 cents per pound.
