– India’s government has tendered for 5,000 tonnes of pigeon peas to boost domestic supplies, according to reports out of the country.
– India’s pulse production in the 2015-16 crop year is expected to fall short of the previously estimated 18 million tonnes due to poor seeding conditions.
– Many growers in Queensland, Australia were unable to plant their winter crops, which are typically chickpeas, as conditions were too dry, according to reports.
– New crop bids for peas in western Canada are about C$8.75 per bushel for green, and C$9.28 per bushel for yellow, as of January 5, Prairie Ag Hotwire said.
