Winnipeg, Oct. 3 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world pulse markets on Monday, October 3.
– Canada exported 130,200 tonnes of peas and 76,400 tonnes of lentils during the week ended September 25, according to the latest Canadian Grain Commission data.
– After two years of drought, India’s Southwest Monsoon ended on Friday having brought normal to above-normal moisture to 85 per cent of the country, according to the country’s meteorological department. However, rainfall was still deficient in parts of eastern and northern India.
– Number 2 Laird lentils are currently topping out at about 48 cents per pound in Western Canada, according to Prairie Ag Hotwire data. Red lentils are bid at up to 30 cents per pound.
– Green pea prices range from C$6.80 to as high as C$7.50 per bushel in Western Canada. Yellow peas range from C$6.00 to C$7.25 per bushel.
