Winnipeg, April 6 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world pulse markets on Wednesday, April 6.
– Prices for most of the commonly traded pulses in India have run into resistance lately, drifting lower as buyers back away at high prices, according to reports.
– Edible bean prices in Britain moved lower over the past month, as end use customers appear over supplied for the time being, according to a report from the British Edible Pulse Association. Farmers in the country are now busy seeding the new crop, with bean spring bean acreage expected to be steady on the year.

– Green pea prices in the C$9.00 to C$9.75 per bushel range are being reported in Western Canada. Meanwhile, top end yellow peas are going for as much as C$13.50 per bushel in some locations. Red lentil bids of 51 cents per pound now being reported in some locations. Meanwhile, number two large green lentils are hitting prices as high as 75 cents and number ones have topped 80 cents at some locations.
– Chickpea prices in Western Canada also remain strong, with large caliber Kabulis’s trading as high as 47 cents per pound.
