Winnipeg, August 3 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world pulse markets on Wednesday, August 3.
– Field peas in Manitoba are starting to mature and turn colour, according to the province’s latest crop report. Excess moisture, however, has been favourable for disease.
– Pulse production in India fell by 4 per cent in the 2015-16 crop year to 16.47 million tonnes, according to reports. The decrease was caused by drought throughout parts of the country.
– Top end green pea prices dropped 25 cents to C$8.75 per bushel in Western Canada, while top end yellow pea prices remained steady at C$7.90 per bushel, according to Prairie Ag Hotwire.
– Large calibre kabuli chickpea prices in Western Canada remained steady at 54 Canadian cents per pound, according to Prairie Ag Hotwire.
