Winnipeg, December 13 – Richlea #3 lentils in Western Canada increased by eight cents overnight, with bids ranging from 35 to 46 cents per pound, according to data from Prairie Ag Hotwire. Eston #3 lentils rose 2 cents per bushel to settle at a range of 26 to 41 cents per pound.
Kabuli chickpeas (10 mm) have risen by five cents on the week and currently feature a range of 63 to 70 cents per pound.
Ukraine increased shipments of peas to Pakistan in 2016/17. According to government data, shipments hit nearly 40,000 tonnes, which was up eight percent from 2015/16 when shipments reached 36,800 tonnes.
Export earnings for Australian chickpeas are set to skyrocket in 2016/17. According to a report by the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences (ABARES), chickpea export earnings are projected to rise by 74 percent.
