Winnipeg, July 21 (CNS Canada) – Canada exported only 200 tonnes of peas and no lentils during the week ended July 16, according to the latest Canadian Grain Commission weekly report, marking the second-straight week of minimal pulse exports as old crop business winds down and attention turns to the new crop.
Total exports of both crops are still running well ahead of the previous year’s pace with only two weeks left in the 2016/17 marketing year.
Ukraine pea exports were also up on the year, with the country exporting a total of 486,500 tonnes of peas in 2016/17, roughly double the previous year’s total, according to a report from UkrAgroConsult. India, Pakistan, and Turkey were the largest customers.
