But what does that mean for fertilizers that need soil moisture to get nutrients moving into plants? Marla Riekman, soil fertility specialist with Manitoba Agriculture, shares what she’s hearing from growers in southern Manitoba so far this season and what they can do to assess plant health if they’re lacking the fertility fuel they need to thrive.
