Good Wheat Crop In France – for Aug. 16, 2010

French farm office FranceAgriMer on Aug. 5 kept its forecast of this year’s soft wheat crop at just over 35 million tonnes. The projected average yield was put at 7.1 tonnes a hectare (106 bu./ac.), down eight per cent from 2009 but in line with the five-year average. AgriMer said the new crop was showing good quality, with average protein levels above 11 per cent in most regions.
