Dave Bishop will continue as chair of Alberta Barley for a second year. Bishop, who farms near Barons, is entering his final year on the farm group’s board. Wade McAllister, who farms near Innisfail, will serve as vice-chair.
He joined the board a year ago and said “taking on a leadership role in the barley industry is the natural next step in my farming career.”
The board also said farewell to Jason Lenz, a former chair who served on the board for six years. Joining the board are Tara Sawyer, a director-at-large who replaces Brian Sewell, and Dick Wymenga in Region 3, who replaces Lenz.
