The newly established Marilyn Sharp 4-H Scholarship will be available this fall for 4-H members from the West Central Region who are starting their post-secondary studies.
Sharp has been involved with 4-H since she began working as a district home economist with Alberta Agriculture in 1964 and was the first woman elected president of Canadian Western Agribition. The $1,000 scholarship, sponsored by chemical companies MEGlobal and Dow Canada, will be offered until 2025.
4-H Alberta awards 250 scholarships annually and now offers an online system so those wishing to apply only have to do so once. The link to the scholarship application (along with a webinar tutorial on applying) can be found at 4hab.com.
