Alberta Beef Producers’ semi-annual meeting along with a Producer Town Hall will both be held virtually on Sept. 30. The general session will run from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by the town hall from 3 to 5 p.m. Guests are welcome to attend both meetings, however, participation in the business portion of the semi-annual meeting is reserved for delegates only.

The town hall will include a presentation on the Canada-Alberta Livestock Feed Assistance initiative, and also zone breakout sessions. As well, ABP’s annual report for 2021 is now available in the ‘About Us’ section at albertabeef.org.

The financial statements show requests for checkoff refunds fell by about nine per cent in 2020 but that more than $3 million was refunded (the lion’s share to feedlots). Since 2010, Alberta Beef has refunded more than $28 million worth of checkoffs.
