Canadian pulse crop organizations are looking for ways to boost demand domestically, while continuing to enjoy robust export markets.

  • breeding resistance into new crop varieties; 
  • developing new ways to control the pathogen; and
  • identifying clubroot resistance genes.

As part of the five-year project, the team is expected to contribute to the sustainable long-term control of clubroot and improved resistance stewardship, helping producers manage and reduce clubroot spores that contaminate their fields. Clubroot can make infected land less desirable to some buyers and renters.
