Alberta’s animal owners have a new — and more reliable — online source for veterinary information: Alberta Animal Health Source.
“Too many pet owners and animal lovers rely on unverified information from unaccountable authors when they’re doing online research,” the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association said in release.
“While they often mean well, these unqualified sources can offer false, even harmful information.”
The site features four main sections: livestock, pets, wildlife, and horses. For animal owners, the website offers “tips and comprehensive guides to improve your animals’ overall health, happiness, and welfare,” the association said.

“By offering this comprehensive resource and unifying our online presence, we hope to empower animal owners everywhere to cut through the misinformation online and find reliable, veterinarian-approved information they can depend on to promote healthy animals, healthy people, and a healthy environment,” the association said.
