Saskatchewan crops mainly good to excellent

Saskatchewan’s spring wheat and canola are in mostly good to excellent condition, the government said on Thursday in a weekly report as of July 22.

• 87 per cent of spring wheat was in good/excellent condition, along with 82 per cent of canola.

• Warm weather seen advancing crop development.

• Flooding, hail, wind and insects have caused some crop damage.

• Topsoil moisture on crop land is rated as 12 per cent surplus, 80 per cent adequate, 8 per cent short.
