MarketsFarm — Canadian grain and oilseed exports are running well ahead of the year-ago level eight weeks into the 2020-21 marketing year, according to the latest data from the Canadian Grain Commission.
Total bulk exports of the major grains and oilseeds, as of Sunday, of 7.17 million tonnes compare with the six million exported during the same two-month period the previous year.
Of that total, canola exports to date of 1.66 million tonnes are up 44 per cent compared to the same time the previous year. Total wheat exports of 3.223 million are up by 31 per cent.
Barley exports were also showing a marked increase on the year, with the 409,600 tonnes exported more than double what moved during the same time frame in 2019.
