– Cargill’s beef slaughterhouse in High River, Alta., will resume operations on May 4, operating one shift. The plant has been closed for nearly two weeks, as nearly half of the staff tested positive for COVID-19. Union officials have warned that the case numbers are still rising, and would like to see the plant remain idle for now.
– A Canadian military helicopter has gone missing in the Ionian Sea in international waters off the coast of Greece, confirmed Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Twitter Wednesday evening. The CH-148 Cyclone was participating in NATO exercises. Local media has reported that one body was found while five others onboard the aircraft are still missing as search-and-rescue operations continue.

– Kenya is banning entry and exit of two large refugee camps in the country in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 into the communities. Dadaab in eastern Kenya and Kakuma in northwestern Kenya are home to roughly 400,000 people, combined. So far there have been no recorded cases of the coronavirus in the camps.
