– United States airstrikes on Iranian rebel groups along the border between Iraq and Syria over the weekend are being condemned by the Iraqi government as “a blatant and unacceptable violation of Iraqi sovereignty and Iraqi national security.” The air attacks were approved by U.S. President Joe Biden and reportedly targeted weapons and organizational facilities.

– A ‘heat dome’ of high pressure saw temperatures rise to record high levels in some western regions of Canada over the weekend, with Lytton, B.C. recording a daily high of 46.6 Celsius on Sunday. That marked the highest daily temperature ever recorded in Canada.

– Rescuers on Monday were still digging through the rubble of a condo that collapsed in Surfside, Florida last Thursday. A total of nine people have been confirmed dead, with 150 still missing. Four Canadians were reportedly among the missing.
