Brazil’s 2010-11 soybean crop estimate was raised slightly to a record 75.3 million tonnes from the 75 million tonnes projected in July, government crop supply agency Conab said Aug. 9. Conab said the total corn output this season would amount to 56.3 million tonnes, down slightly from the 57.1 million tonnes estimated in July. Brazil harvested 56 million tonnes of corn in the previous 2009-10 crop. Total grain output in Brazil remains a record 161.5 million tonnes, a gain of eight per cent on last year’s harvest of 149.2 million tonnes, Conab said.
