Alberta Beef Producers announces new board

Melanie Wowk and Jason Hale are continuing as chair and vice-chair of Alberta Beef Producers but there are a mix of new faces and returning ones on the organization’s board of directors.

The board was slimmed down last year to 12 directors (from 16 previously) after the number of zones was reduced to five (from nine before). Joining Wowk (who is in her second year as chair) from the northeast zone are Jay Hager and George L’Heureux. Hale, Nanita Blomquist, finance chair Brodie Haugan and Kent Holowath are the directors for the southeast zone.

There are also four directors – Sheila Hillmer, Lee Irvine, Fred Lozeman and Rod Carlyon – from the southwest zone. Gary These is the director for the northwest zone.
