GrainsConnect Canada’s new high-speed terminal in Vegreville is now open and fully operational. The $30-million facility is the company’s third and its first in Alberta. A fourth terminal will open in Huxley in the fall.
The Vegreville site features a state-of-the-art 35,000-tonne grain terminal with the ability to load 134 rail cars in under 14 hours. GrainsConnect and GrainCorp are also building the Fraser Grain Terminal at the Port of Vancouver.
GrainsConnect and Parrish & Heimbecker have signed an agreement to make that terminal a 50-50 joint venture. It will be able to export up to four million tonnes of grain, oilseeds, and pulses annually.
