Ward Oatway of Clive is the new president of the Alberta Seed Growers board of directors, succeeding Glenn Logan.

During the past two years, the organization has seen an 11 per cent increase in membership, and a 44,000-acre increase in pedigreed inspected acres, said Logan, who will remain on the board as past president for the next two years.

Two new directors have joined the board. Tracy Niemela operates Sandy Hill Seed Farm near Sylvan Lake with husband Duane and her parents, Terry and Marilyn Niemela. Richard Hallett runs Hallett’s Hay & Seed near Carstairs with wife Lacy and his parents, Dale and Darlene.
