Two young Albertans are among the dozen recipients of the 2018 TD 4-H Agriculture Scholarships.

The $2,500 scholarships allow 4-H members to pursue post-secondary studies in the field of agriculture, agricultural science, or agricultural business. The two Alberta recipients are Emmett Sawyer and Leah Trenson.

4-H Canada has a number of scholarships, ranging from $500 to up to $20,000 (for four years of study). Most are now closed, with the application period for 2019 scholarships reopening on March 1.

However, applications are still being accepted (until Oct. 31) for the 4-H First-Generation Scholarships. These $1,000 awards, funded by the Coca-Cola Foundation as part of Canada’s 150th anniversary celebrations, are available to any 4-H member who is the first in their immediate family to attend a post-secondary institution or a post-graduate program.

For more information on scholarships, bursaries, and other awards, go to the Scholarships and Awards page on the 4-H Canada website.
