Syngenta Crop Protection Canada is again offering its Horizon NG scholarships for post-secondary students in the Prairie provinces pursuing a career in agriculture. Seven students hailing from Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba will be awarded a scholarship of $2,500 in recognition of their exceptional academic performance and community involvement.
The seven scholarships will be awarded based on academic standing, extra-cur ricular community involvement and two letters of reference from members of the applicant’s local community. Scholarships will be awarded to two students residing in Alberta, two in Manitoba and three in Saskatchewan.
Eligible students must be entering the second year of an undergraduate degree or college diploma program in agriculture or agriculture-related studies and have maintained an 80 per cent average in the last two semesters of studies.
The Horizon NG Scholarship Program is administered by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC). Application materials are available at www.aucc.ca/scholarships.All applications must be submitted by June 1, 2009.
