WINNIPEG, Aug. 25 (MarketsFarm) – The following is a glance at the news moving markets in Canada and globally.

– The United States House of Representatives has passed President Joe Biden’s multitrillion-dollar budget blueprint, ending a standoff with more moderate democrats that had threatened to stall economic recovery in the country. All Republicans opposed the bill, which must now pass the Senate.

– Japan has extended its COVID-19 state of emergency for another week, while also adding more prefectures to the order in an effort to quell a surge in infections brought on by the Delta variant. Tokyo has already been under emergency measures since July 12, with daily cases up significantly since then.

– Canada’s federal election campaign continues into its 11th day on Wednesday, with Liberal leader Justin Trudeau scheduled to make appearances in British Columbia. Conservative leader Erin O’Toole and NDP leader Jagmeet Singh will both be campaigning in Ontario.
