Cattle ID agency names 2018 board of directors

A number of Albertans will serve on the Canadian Cattle Identification Agency board of directors and executive committee in 2018. The agency has 19 directors, who are appointed by member organizations, with five serving on the executive committee.

Joining chair Mark Elford (Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association) on the executive are Albertans Howard Bekkering (Alberta Beef Producers, finance and audit committee chair), Lyle Miller (Alberta Cattle Feeders’ Association), and Doug Sawyer (Canadian Cattlemen’s Association). Other Albertans on the board include James MacLean (Canadian Livestock Dealer’s Association rep), Dr. Oliver Schunicht (Canadian Veterinary Medical Association), and Michael Latimer (associate member, Canadian Beef Breeds Council).
