There are 15 John Deere Canada scholarships, for $1,000, for 4-H members pursuing a post-secondary education at a Canadian college or university in a degree, certificate, or trade-based program. There are 12 TD 4-H Agriculture Scholarships worth $2,500 each for members enrolling in a post-secondary program in agriculture, ag science, or agribusiness in September. The $500 Canadian Co-operative Wool Growers scholarships are also for students taking an agriculture-based program, ideally with a focus on sheep-related studies, this fall.

The Weston Family 4-H Agricultural Scholarships offer full-year tuition for students pursuing an agricultural-based degree at a university. The Coca-Cola Foundation will also be offering 4-H scholarships.

For details or to apply, go to 4-h-canada.ca and click on the Scholarships and Awards pull-down menu.

There are also a number of scholarships that can be found on 4-H Alberta’s website (go to 4h.ab.ca and click on the ‘For Members & Leaders’ pull-down menu).

Only one application is required for 4-H Alberta Scholarships. The main scholarship is worth up to $2,500 but the single application means applicants are automatically considered for region or district awards. Last year, 4-H’ers in the province submitted 236 scholarship applications and 202 scholarships (totalling almost $150,000) were awarded, the website states.

There are also a number of other scholarships and awards on the website, with a variety of application deadlines.
