Canadian Canola Growers Association vice-president Bernie McClean (left) presented STARS CEO Andrea Robertson with a cheque for $100,000 last month at the inaugural Field of STARS gala north of Saskatoon. An additional $530,000 was raised last month at a benefit held in Saskatoon.

“The services provided by STARS are vitally important to farmers and to the well-being of the rural communities where farm families live and work,” McClean said.

In just the first half of July, STARS responded to emergencies in communities such as Stettler, Manning, and Grande Prairie as well as Val Marie, Wynyard, and Kipling in Saskatchewan and Russell and Portage la Prairie in Manitoba.
